Sean Hill (7-7:30pm)
Sean Hill is an award winning multidisciplinary artist & humanitarian with the focus of supporting universal inner & outer peace in a realistic, fun, & passionate way. As a SAG actor, host, speaker, touring spoken word artist & workshop facilitator he has shared stages and pages with Oscar winners, platinum singers, Grammy winners, literary giants like Kevin Powell, V (formerly Eve Ensler), Jessica Care Moore, Nikki Giovanni & children from youth homes sharing poems for the first time. He traveled to help build two gender equal schools in Malawi & Nepal. "It is better to light a candle than to curse the dark.
Music Center - Got Rhythm! (7:30-8:15pm)
Got Rhythm! is a captivating dance and music performance-based in the indigenous American art form of rhythm tap dance. Channing Cook-Holmes is a tap dancer and drummer extraordinaire, who presents rhythm tap in its purest form with live instrumentation. It is a contemporary look at the origins of tap dance and the masters of the art, featuring drums, bass, and keyboards. Channing, along with the ensemble, interacts with and engages the audience in rhythm making, encouraging each person to discover the tap dancer or musician inside.
Meet & Greet in Lobby with Sean Hill and Artist Ashley Khan (8:30-9pm)
Show is complimentary. Reservations are required and are on a first come, first served basis. Limit 4 patrons per reservation. Once a reservation is made, an email confirmation will be sent to the email address provided and will serve as event entry ticket.
Arts Grown L.A., a TMC Arts program, builds on The Music Center's highly successful partnerships with community groups and local artists to offer free, family-friendly performances and artmaking experiences for all ages. In collaboration with community locations such as libraries, community centers and parks among other sites, Music Center artists bring their creativity and talents to many neighborhoods across Los Angeles County. Performances, workshops and special experiences highlight the diverse cultural traditions of the county and the world.
